THURSDAY: ELA Classroom Journal Day/6.10/This will be Week 7 in our online journals.

FRIDAY:  My Fandom(Week 5 Journal)/6.11/Create a song, a video, a poster, a short story, a comic strip, etc. to tell all of us about your fandom.  Be creative – just remember to be SCHOOL appropriateThis will be due next Friday at the beginning of class. We will work on it today and one day next week, but the rest will have to be done on YOUR OWN TIME. (This was originally given to you last Friday, but due to ESTEEM Curriculum I had to put it off a week.)

WEDNESDAY: Vocabulary List 1/6.10/Create Flashcards for Vocabulary List 1; the quiz will be Wednesday, September 11th

THURSDAY:  Classroom Cereal/6.11/An online assessment reviewing spelling, punctuation, word usage, homophones, capitalization, and sentence structure.

FRIDAY: Vocabulary Review & Row Stories/6.10/We will have a short competition over the vocabulary words; We will create funny stories with row speed writing.

**PLEASE return the ESTEEM Curriculum papers that were sent home to be completed by parents.

6th Grade ELA – August 26 – 30

****Missing Assignments: PLEASE check Skyward and compete any missing assignments.  If an assignment has not been completed and turned in by the due date, it will be entered as a “zero” in the grade book.  We worked on missing assignments last Friday in class and the student were given the weekend to complete any missing work.  I am in my classroom every morning from 7:30 – 7:55 if anyone needs help.

Monday & Tuesday: My Life Slideshow on Google Slides/6.10/The student will be creating a Google Slideshow about themselves.  The instructions are on Google Classroom.

WEDNESDAY: Vocabulary List 1 Flashcards, Newspaper Editing, Nouns Review/6.10/The students will be doing stations today. Station 1 – making flashcards; Station 2 – looking for grammar or spelling errors in the LNJ; Station 3 – Noun Review

THURSDAY: ELA Journal Day/6.10c/The student will follow the writing prompt on Google Classroom to complete their journal this week.

FRIDAY: Vocabulary List 1 Review/6.10/Using Kahoot It we will review the Vocabulary List 1 that is in their ELA binder.

UIL at White Oak Middle School

UIL at WOMS

The 6th Grade students were given a handout about ALL the UIL events that they can compete in at the middle school level and who the coaches are for that event.  ALL students in the 6th – 8th grades MUST choose at least one event to participate in during Enrichment time on Monday – Wednesday.  We won district last year and our goal is to be REPEAT champs this year.  Please discuss with your student which ones they might be interested in trying or doing again.  The competition will be in December.
