Today is the end of the 1st Three Week Grading period of the 3rd Nine Weeks.
I have updated all of my grades and told all of my students to check Student Portal.
Any assignment with a grade of a zero needs to be completed and turned in ASAP.
Many of these assignments are on Google Classroom and can be completed anywhere that
wi-fi is available. I am in my room every morning at 7:30, if anyone needs help.
FYI – If you look on Student/Parent Portal and see a grade of a “O” that means the assignment has NOT been turned in to me. I give students that have been absent at least one day for each day absent to make up missing assignments. I have noticed over the last few “icy” and “rainy” days that many of my students are in the “I don’t want to do anything at home” mode. In my 36 years of education, I have noticed that “Spring Fever” comes earlier and earlier every year. ANY assignment for me can be made up or corrected and turned in to me to be graded. I am in my room at 7:30 every morning, if any student needs help. I will GLADLY stay after school on Monday or Thursday and help any student that needs help.

***Our emphasis for the next few months will be on organization of written responses, both short and long, to help with the writing portion of the STAAR test in April.

Wednesday: Vocabulary/6.11/Introduce new vocabulary and use it in our writing
Thursday: Fables/6.11C/Read some well known fables and rewrite them to make them modern. Draw one illustration that goes with your fable.

Science and Social Studies will be the only 2 semester exams. Reading and Math Benchmarks will count as semester exams.
8th grade students who attend high school for classes will stay here Monday and report to the high school on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Reading, English, and Math classes will spend the extra class time reviewing the benchmark.
EVERY night before they go to bed, your son or daughter
needs to PLUG in their chrome book. They also need to bring
their charger to school with them EVERY day in case they need
to charge it at school.
On Wednesday and Thursday they will be taking benchmark
tests all morning and will need them charged. Earbuds or
headphones will be needed on most days, also.

FRIDAY – Writing stories/6.10/Using the notes we took from the slideshows, we will be creating stories.
